Vance Toe River Lodge
About Us
The Lodge Cafe features gourmet creations from chef Will Young's open kitchen as well as excellent wines from the lodge's own Elk Mountain Winery. Meals are prepared as much as possible with fresh seasonal vegetables, fruits, and herbs from the lodge's own gardens, orchards, berry bushes, and greenhouses as well as produce from other local growers. Eggs are provided by our own chickens, and trout are caught to order from our own trout pond. The Sunday brunch features (among many other specialties) grilled shoulder tenderloins, baked ham, chicken divan, numerous vegetable dishes, and salads made with edible flowers grown right here at the lodge along with up to 15 homemade desert options.
Lunches Wednesday-Saturday, dinners Friday and Saturday, and brunch Sunday. Hearty breakfasts are available for those staying on site in one of our various lodging spaces from B&B, cabins, yurts, camping, and more.
Dining takes place in the former Vance General Store circa 1919 in the atmosphere of an old-time Appalachian mountain lodge. The building was lovingly restored by the Young family, which operates it as a family business. The native Carolinians also operate a campground, zipline canopy tours, two disc golf courses, as well as a clothing & gift store at the lodge.
Lunch or brunch is included with the lodge's zipline experience.
Wine tastings and culinary dinner classes are offered by special arrangement.
The Toe River Lodge can accommodate groups up to 300 for special occasions.
