About Us

Tempeh, raw sauerkraut, and kombucha. Viable Cultures offers delicious, nutritious, hand-made, naturally-fermented foods, made with organic and locally-grown ingredients. Local ingredients include cabbages grown in Asheville and soybeans grown in Old Fort. Production takes place at Blue Ridge Food Ventures, on the A-B Tech Enka Campus. These fermented foods are available at groceries, served at restaurants, and sold at farmers markets and direct to customers by special order.

Comments About the Products We Need

dry beans for tempeh-- soy beans as well as smaller quantities of other beans vegetables for raw krauts-- predominantly cabbages, but other suitable veggies, as well, in lesser quantities
