Appleberry Cove Farm and School
A small family farm nestled in a secluded cove within the Appalachain Mountains of Northern Madison County (approx. one mile from Big Bald Mtn/Wolf Laurel/Wolf Ridge Resorts in Mars Hill, NC). We harvest most of our fruits(apples and berries), wild edibles, herbs, and flowers from the woods, hills, and vales that make up our 18 acre farm home. The fresh colorful eggs are produced by a wide variety of heavy breed chickens that roam around the farm and pastures along with our small herd of LaMancha, Nubian, and Toggenburg dairy goats. We are a working farm that offers agricultural learning adventures about farm animal husbandry(dairy goats & poultry), gardening(veg., flowers, herbs, & fruits), medicinal and edible herbs and wild plants, short nature walks: native plant identification and uses, bird watching, small pond/bog exploration and basic homesteading skills as they fit into our family schedules. We are NCDA licensed to sell goat milk for pet consumption. Farm produce, crafts, and our "Sweet Tooth Confections" are available on site or at local markets. Please call or email for tours, workshops, or demonstrations that are being offered throughout the seasons.
