A cooperative of organic/alternative farmers in the southern Blue Ridge Mountains bioregion striving to meet the region's seed needs. Our mission is to encourage environmentally sound agricultural practices by developing and distributing seeds of crops well-adapted to regional growing conditions. Furthermore, we aim to make regional agriculture more sustainable by offering opportunities for growers to diversify their operations as well as on-farm income through seed production/extraction. We plan to offer seed production workshops tailored to different farm types and participatory breeding activities. In addition, we are attempting to acquire funding to place seed extraction equipment in cooperative/non-profit processing centers throughout the region. We are actively seeking new members!
