Rise Up Rooted Farm and River Camp
About Us
Located along the Broad River, south of Black Mountain, Rise Up Rooted Farm and River Camp maintains gardens and greenhouses, which are home to nutritious and healthy artisan greens and seasonal produce. Using organic, permaculture principles, we are stewarding 10 acres of a rich riparian zone and floodplain along the trout waters of the Broad River. We are hosts for a rustic tent camp along the river where we welcome visitors, interns, students, and groups to visit and stay on our land while enjoying our edible food gardens and participating in ongoing sustainable projects. During your stay with us at the River Camp, you will get a closer look at the unique diversity of our natural environment, and culture of the region. Our mission for the farm includes developing a model unique to our land for sustainable, self-sufficient living. We plan to host workshops and special "earth to table" events in the near future! We are new to the region and we currently are gaining support for our growing project from nearby restaurant chefs in Asheville and Black Mountain. We are fortunate to now have the opportunity to contribute to the abundance of diversity that exists within the WNC bioregion while becoming stewards for our food and water security along with the natural world. When we are in full operation, we will share our unique destination and welcome visitors and guests year round!
